Heanor Gate has been a specialist science college since 2002. The school has also been designated as a High Performing Specialist School and we have recently been awarded a second specialism in vocational studies. We are currently the lead school in the area for the new Diploma in IT.
In the most recent OFSTED inspection the school was judged to be good with outstanding features. Read the report below.

Vouchers
 Almost 2500 vouchers were sent in. These have been exchanged for a wormery, gardening gloves & tools and a range of plants and seeds.

Targets for 2010 include reducing energy use in school and encouraging environmentally friendly travel including walking, cycling, buses and car sharing.
