Eco-Kids Clothing and Bric-a-Brac Collection: Students will be travelling to Tanzania during 2014 to help support wildlife and local communities in the are. Students need to raise over £3000 each towards the cost of the trip and so will be holding a clothes and bric-a-brac collection on Friday 28th June to help towards the cost. If you have any old clothes, toys or other items you no longer need please send them into school for the attention of Miss Boyall.
Half Term Revision Classes: The school is offering a range of revision and coursework improvement classes during the half term break.Students should be receiving separate letters from their teachers with full details of start and finish times of classes, refreshments and equipment to bring to school. Rugby League World Cup: Students have the opportunity to be part of group supporting the Rugby League World Cup in November. The cost will be £40, which includes tickets to both England v Ireland on 2nd November and the Final at Old Trafford on 30th November, as well as transport costs and an England replica shirt. Letters will be available from Mr Thomas in PE and are likely to be very popular so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Book Donations: Howitt Primary School are collecting second hand children's books for their school library. If you have any books for younger children you are able to donate please send them to Heanor Gate School Library who will pass them on to Howitt.

Website Update: Heanor Gate Science College website will be being redesigned over the next few months. Consultations with students, staff and parents will be taking place to help us ensure the design helps to make it easy for everyone to find they information they need.
