Heanor Gate has been a specialist science college since 2002, and we have just gained redesignation for a further four years. The school has also been designated as a High Performing Specialist School and we have recently been awarded a second specialism in vocational studies. From September 2008 we will be the lead school for the new Diploma in IT.  Learning at HGSC (video)

 Sainsbury's & Tescos Tokens
The school is currently collecting Sainsbury's tokens for kitchen equipment. Last year we collected over 10,000 tokens and exchanged them for a range of equipment. We are also collecting Tesco Vouchers for Digital Cameras.
Collection boxes can be found in Main Reception, Student Reception, Library or H9.
